You Determine Your Success In Business & Career
I
am always excited when I have an opportunity to discuss any of our business
enhancement programs. It can really be refreshing to me. But why? The reason is
simply, I see the impact on the business and careers of the people who have
been through our programs. They talk about their learning and the positive
impact on their business and career and are grateful for the opportunity.
We
are now in the second half of the year 2017 and it does not matter how good the
first half has been, what has been achieved or still pending. I see this second
half as an opportunity to do better that we have ever done. The results we have had so far could be either
as a result of the cycle of our business or the state of preparedness with
which we commenced the year 2017. There is a popular saying ‘accelerate your
business or be ready to die’. I remind myself and my clients about this because
it’s so easy to lose sight of it. We have to continue to hone our skills,
develop new ones and learn winning strategies to thrive in times of intense
competition and economic hardship.
We
started the CPPL Monthly Training Program 28 months ago because we saw an
obvious gap in the capacity building and development for business owners and
professionals in marketing, sales, customer service, project management and
general business management. It’s one thing to know what we want to do / achieve,
and have a huge vision but unless we have the right structure behind it, that
big dream may never be achieved.
Recently
I spoke at a sales conference and the theme was so apt – Don’t Just Succeed,
Dominate. This might sound self-fish but that is what the business of today
calls for. You are not the one operating in your industry. Competition is intense;
every one struggling to meet the same customer need you want to meet and it’s
only the business that is perceived to meet that customer need better than
others (competition) that would stand a chance for repeat and continuous
patronage. So, we have to be active, vibrant and mobile in our approach.
One
of the first things that businesses that want to accelerate and grow do is to
develop their human capital. You need the right people who know what to do to
accelerate your business. Times are changing and we have to adapt accordingly.
The CPPL Monthly Training Program is a program that will equip your people with
skills to win in the market place.
We
have had over 280 business owners and professionals attend the monthly training
program and the feedback has been very impressive. This is why I will always
recommend this program.
“The
truth is that in this time of recession, businesses need to accelerate. This
means, you must always be on top of your game. They must think out of the box.
They must be innovative. Where they do not have the resources and skills to do
so, they need to look outwards and get help. Your people must be at their
best and your business must be run effectively and efficiently to survive these
times. Yes, we must watch costs, however this is not the time to cut training,
innovation and or marketing budgets. These are the business lifelines” –
Ikechukwu Kalu
Businesses
suffer because their people (I like to refer to them as brand ambassadors) make
common avoidable mistakes. They suffer because they lack knowledge of basic
business principles, and techniques. Your brand ambassadors lack initiative
because they are ill equipped. Cutting edge business best practices
evolve with time and seasons. They must be learnt to enable businesses function
effectively and profitably. These are some of the objectives we want to achieve
with the Monthly Training Program.
What
will set you apart in these trying times is your ability and capacity to be
strategy driven, result-oriented and customer focused. These are the core
skills we dwell on in this program. You cannot grow in business without
understanding and meeting the needs of your customer. Even when you have a good
product, you will require selling skills to make the exchange happy profitably.
It still doesn’t end there. You have to know how to nurture and keep your
existing customers while you acquire new ones. The way we go about these very
important business functions determines the extent to which we are perceived by
our customers to be relevant to them. It is important that we deliver value to
our customers in a manner that is consistent and sustainable. To achieve this,
a project management mind set is required. This is why we included this as the
fourth module in the program.
Imagine
how you feel when your customer tells you they need more time or more budget or
more resources to complete an on-going assignment? What comes to your mind
first? Definitely not positive. With a project management mindset you will
deliver value consistently and in a manner that is sustainable. The CPPL
Monthly Training Program will enable you develop the capacity you need to
create value consistently. This is a sure way to accelerate your business.
"Thank
you very much Sir and I want you to know that you're one of the most impactful
personalities I've met. Since my company started training with CPPL, value
creation has been enormously increased and that is why the CEO has almost made
it compulsory for every staff (Brand Ambassador) to attend your training"
