I am always excited when I have an opportunity to discuss any of our business enhancement programs. It can really be refreshing to me. But why? The reason is simply, I see the impact on the business and careers of the people who have been through our programs. They talk about their learning and the positive impact on their business and career and are grateful for the opportunity. We are now in the second half of the year 2017 and it does not matter how good the first half has been, what has been achieved or still pending. I see this second half as an opportunity to do better that we have ever done.  The results we have had so far could be either as a result of the cycle of our business or the state of preparedness with which we commenced the year 2017. How important is channel management in today’s business? I had a rare opportunity of discussing channel management and its importance with some young, vibrant, high performing Nigerians recently. It was a two day program themed ‘Business Enhancement Program for Channel Managers’.  We had great fun honing our skills, discussing issues and learning new strategies. As you would have noticed, we believe in running programs as against courses. Programs enable us understand and thrash identified challenges with a function or field of study and come up with simple and workable solutions. This is an excerpt from a speech I made at a sales conference recently. It really was an  exciting moment for me and the people were simply fantastic.  I recall how we looked forward to sales conferences in my young and growing days in Sales and Marketing. An effective sales conference or meeting has clear, attainable objectives that everyone on the team can understand. You will leave here with set goals, fired up, having developed some new exciting sales strategies. You will also have developed a working plan for the next one year / half year / quarter / months as the case may be. Sales conferences always afforded us great opportunities to meet, interact and share experiences with one another. It is a powerful platform to exchange ideas, sharpen each other, hone existing skills and learn new ones. We always left the conferences feeling empowered and ready to ‘take on the world’.
